MIDTERM REFLECTION 

For the past few months in our subject Illustration and Animation, I learned a lot especially the Basic Drawing Concept and Techniques for the Illustration which is important to learn by a beginner in this field like me and Also, we had an activity which is to draw the three types of point of perspective which it gives us an insight in creating the illusion of depth and space. In Animation I learned the Brief History of Animation where we presented our reflection of the said topic in which the animation before have a great contribution to the development of modern animation. Also, I learned the different Authoring tools in Animation and the Basic Principles of Animation. Furthermore, we were able to have our hands on activities in this subject even though that not all of us have the resources needed for this subject but still we are able to attain the objective for this course or subject which is to be able to learn how to animate applying 2D animation using the software Adobe Animate. In this, it is serves as our training arena to be to be equipped in this field and acquire the necessary knowledge to create our own animation even though it’s a basic one. The example animation we did is to animate Jellyfish which applies the rigging process (Freeze joint and soft bone) where it is the process of adding controls to a digital model so that animators can move and act on it. When you observe how a living being moves, you will notice that every movement they make causes a reaction in every other part of their body.

I also learned how to do the Fish Animation by applying the parenting process which is it. It is a technique for constructing a hierarchical structure of parent/child relationships between various layers. I also learned how to propagate scale, skew, and transform using layer parenting. Then I also learned how to combine these animation process using the adobe animate which is very fun and fulfilling because I was successfully meet to combine the two process in one animation. I also learned how to animate a stork carrying a baby and a bouncing girl.

And now in our Illustration subject I able to draw or illustrate a character using Adobe Animate applying the brush tool and line tool and able to explore this tool in order to produce a great illustration. In terms of our assessment like quizzes, I can say that it is easy since our instructor gives as time to study and design his assessment basing on our capabilities. Even though that there are little downfalls the we met in our course like having lack of resources and no vacancy of learning facility for our major but still we are grateful that our instructors find a way to resolve these issues and also our classmates allow us to borrow their laptops for us to do and accomplished our activities on time.
